Akupara Global Yoga Retreats Authentic and Holistic Yoga Retreats

Akupara Yoga Retreats

At Akupara Yoga, we believe that the recent boom in yoga's popularity is no accident. People are drawn to yoga because it offers a genuine experience that helps everyone who practices feel better for more than just a few hours. Yoga is much more than mere exercise; it speaks to fundamental human needs: self-acceptance and love, connection to source, and living a life of meaning. Our retreats emphasize the full-spectrum of yoga —overall physical health, stress-reduction, yogic psychology and the ultimate goal of transcendence.

All Akupara Yoga Retreats include:

Asana:
Traditional Hatha Yoga physical postures meant to focus and clear the mind and develop health and fitness in the body.

Pranayama:
Traditional Yogic breath exercises that serve a variety of functions, including clearing emotion, enhancing digestion, altering the body's metabolism, and preparing the mind for meditation.

Practical Philosophy/Psychology:
Yogic and other spiritual techniques and theories to help bring about a change in perspective that reduces stress and enhances quality of life, with an emphasis on how to put these into practice in one's daily life.

Cleanses:
Gentle, ancient yogic techniques to clean the body and return it to a healthy state so that internal systems function better.

Other yogic techniques:
(Such as yoga nidra, meditation, or kriya yoga) that help bring about peace of mind, relaxation, self-reflection and happiness.

This fundamentally Tantric approach to yoga has been strongly influenced by Ruth Hartung (Shraddhasagar) and the Bihar School of Yoga, as well as the teachings of Swami Saraswati Satyananda, Sri Swami Satchidananda, Yogacharya BKS Iyengar, Rama Jyoti Vernon, and Yogi Bhajan.

In addition to authentic and holistic yogic practices, each retreat is set in beautiful surroundings, and includes excursions into the nature and/or culture of every unique location. In further support of developing overall wellness, healthful, delicious vegetarian meals are included in all Akupara Yoga Retreats.

“Sunrise in the sky of the heart is the most blessed sight.”
